Performance Boost

Mods like Sodium & Lithium

1

Install a Mod Loader

Choose between Fabric or Forge. Fabric is recommended for performance mods. Download the installer from the official website and run it.

💡 Tip:

Fabric is lighter and faster. Forge has more mods. Check which one your chosen mods require.

2

Find & Download a Mod

Browse ModCraft, check compatibility with your Minecraft version and mod loader, then click Download.

💡 Tip:

Always download from ModCraft or directly from Modrinth to ensure the file is safe.

3

Open Your Mods Folder

Open File Explorer and navigate to: Windows: %AppData%\.minecraft\mods | macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods

💡 Tip:

You can quickly open the mods folder by pressing Win+R and typing %AppData%\.minecraft\mods

4

Place the .jar & Launch

Copy the downloaded .jar file into the mods folder. Open the Minecraft Launcher, select your mod loader profile, and click Play.

💡 Tip:

Always back up your worlds before adding new mods to prevent data loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Minecraft Java Edition for mods?

Yes. Mods on Modrinth/ModCraft are for Minecraft Java Edition only. Bedrock Edition uses add-ons, not mods.

Why won't my mods load?

Check that the mod version matches your Minecraft version and that you have the correct mod loader installed. Some mods also require dependencies (listed on the mod page).

Can I use Fabric and Forge mods together?

No. Fabric and Forge mods are not compatible with each other. You need to pick one loader per game instance.

How do I update a mod?

Download the new version from ModCraft and replace the old .jar file in your mods folder. Remove the old file first to avoid conflicts.
